Registrations for WinterBreak 2012 are officially OPEN!!

This year’s conference is on the topic of “Social Justice.” Our God is a god who hates injustice and in the bible He has clearly shown how He brings comfort to those who are oppressed. How do we as his followers respond to God’s call to justice?? This weekend will challenge us to have a heart after God’s heart. That we will love as HE has so clearly loved us.

Hey guys,

It’s almost here…IGNITE IS 7PM TOMORROW NIGHT! We’re gonna kick off our second term of Crossfire this year by worshipping our great God and hearing about some awesome things that are coming up soon. Thing such as WINTER BREAK 2012! We can’t wait to see how this conference will shape our hearts for social justice and we hope you guys are just as excited as we are! We’ll also be launching something BRAND NEW for all Creative Ministries at Crossfire! So get ready for a massive night and a massive term with our massive God!

Helloooo everyone,

Long time no see! Well not for long! It’s exactly one week until we’re gonna kick off Term 2 of Crossfire with Ignite NEXT WEEK. Friday 27th April, 7pm-9pm in the Church. We can’t wait to see you all there next Friday night, and to hear what you’ve been learning from God during these last few weeks. So get ready for another term of wild, awesome-filled, Jesus lovin’ Friday nights!

Now we all know the weathers starting to get a bit colder, and while some may be longing for those warm summer days, we say nay! Because this means something we all love is coming up very soon….WINTER BREAK 2012!! This years topic is Social Justice, and we’ll be giving you all of the details for this years conference at Ignite next week. This Friday we’re having a carnival night at Crossfire Youth!! There’s gonna be stalls, games, food and everything else that they have at the circus! Who knows? Maybe we’ll shoot someone out of a cannon. Probably not though. Plenty of fun will be had at this night so make sure that YOU are there.

While it may have been Double-Up last week, you should definitely be inviting your friends every week! Make sure they don’t miss out on this one night only special!

If you’re keen on dressing up then by all means, feel free to. We’ll even have a photo lounge where you can preserve your memories forever.

Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your eyes. But here’s what you gotta do for Crossfire this Friday night:

Invite a friend.
Dress the same as them.
Declare a dance war!

Now, you NEED to invite a friend who’s never been to Crossfire or church before! Don’t just dress the same as one of your friends you see every week, where’s the fun in that? Bring someone new and then (if they’re up for it) dress like twinnies! Don’t limit yourself to inviting one friend either. If you can, invite seven, then you can go as octuplets!

As an added bonus, we’ll have guest preacher Shane Dirks bringing the Word this Friday!! Your friends need to hear what this man has to say! Some say that he used to be a bodybuilder in his heyday, others say that he trained with Cadel Evans in long distance cycling, while others claim that he counted to infinity. Twice. (*Only one of these claims is a lie…)

SO. Invite as many people as you can and prepare yourselves for an off-the-chain evening!

Our Year Twelves decided to organise and run their own version of Crossfire in someone’s backyard when we had a week off. This is a video of the motivation and conviction of the people that ran the night as well some testimonies from those that were there.

The Crossfire Youth leadership team were stunned and encouraged at The Big Weekend when they heard about what was happening on Friday night. Effective ministry doesn’t happen only within the walls of St Paul’s Castle Hill but in the relationships with your friends.

This is a challenge to all of us; that we have the power and capability to bring the good news of Jesus to our friends outside the walls of a church. Because the church doesn’t exist to serve our needs, but it exists to meet the needs of others.

Luke 5:31-32

Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance “

Unfortunately there is no Crossfire this Friday night (sigh). Our young adults are going away on The Big Weekend and the majority of the Crossfire leadership team will be away on that weekend sitting under the teaching of Shane Dirks, the new Young Adults Pastor.

While we’re really sad that there’s no Crossfire this week, this is an awesome opportunity for you guys to do some of your own ministry with your friends. So if you have a house, you can have Crossfire. Invite your friends who don’t come to church, buy some snacks, rent a movie, go wander around the street, have a massive dance party. If you’re really keen and you have the space, play King Caractacus. Then you can let your neighbours know who really stole his thinking hat

Also Here are some important dates that you need to put into your diary/iPhone/Macbook/Android/calender

24th February- NO CROSSFIRE AT CHURCH, but that shouldn’t stop you from having Crossfire at your house/your friends house/ the park. Get creative!

2nd March - Crossfire is BACK at church!!

9th March- DOUBLE UP NIGHT. Everyone needs to bring a friend to Crossfire AND you need to dress the same as them!! Like twins! Why twins dress the same is anyone’s guess. It’s hard enough as it is.

16th March- CROSSFIRE CARNIVAL!! The Circus will be in town at Crossfire Youth!! Prepare yourself for games, prizes, acrobatics, fire breathing and maybe a human cannonball. It’s a carnival, who knows what will happen..

A Merry Crossfire Christmas!

Schools out, summer has started (sort of) and what better way to celebrate all this awesomeness than by coming to the last night of Crossfire for the year! We wanna see you guys dressed up in your best Christmas outfits with lots of green, red and white to celebrate the coming Christmas season. We’ve got some awesome stuff planned for the final Crossfire of 2011 and you definitely don’t want to miss out.

Now, even though this is our last Crossfire for the year (I know, so sad) there’s still so much coming up at our church that we’d love to see all of you guys at. Don’t forget there’s the St Pauls Castle Hill Christmas Eve Services at 5pm, 9pm and 11pm, as well as the Christmas Day Services at 7:30am and 9:30am. For more information head to the church website. Bring yo friends! Bring yo family! And come celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Thailand Mission Trip Blog

Well at precisely 5:45am this morning, 23 leaders and students of Crossfire met up, headed to the airport and boarded a plane to Thailand, where they will be taking part in a 2 week Mission Trip. Sounds awesome right? Well guess what! They’ve got they’re own awesome blog that you can follow. Check out xfirethailand.tumblr.com and keep updated with what the Thailand Mission Team are doing while they’re over there. It’s sure to be super encouraging! Also, be sure to keep praying for the safety of our leaders and students while they’re in Thailand.

Isaiah 39 Day Challenge

Hey guys,

So if you’re still keen to start reading Isaiah before ImpaKCt but didn’t start the 66 day challenge soon enough, don’t fret! We’ve got a special catch up plan for you. You can START TODAY by reading Chapters 1 to 12, then jump ahead to Chapter 40 and keep going all the way up to Chapter 66. By reading 39 Chapters in 39 days you’ll still get to read all the highlights of Isaiah and be done just in time for ImpaCKt 2012! How awesome is that?

Remember, this camp is all about growing closer to God and reading Isaiah is a perfect way to start getting ready for what will be an amazing week learning about our awesome God. Stay tuned for more ImpaKCt goodness!

Happy December Everyone!

We’ve been busy planning some awesome stuff for you guys on camp next year, and let’s just say…IT’S GONNA BE DA BEST WEEK EVA! We’ve had so many registrations come in already, and are so excited by the number of you who are keen to come on camp to soak up some sun, dance like crazy and learn about our awesome God. Remember if you haven’t registered yet, you now only have one month left to do so! Registrations will close on the 31st December, so make sure you don’t miss out. If you’re still not convinced, check out the video below:

It’s also been super encouraging to see the number of you who have taken up the 66 days of Isaiah challenge and to hear what you’ve been learning. If you feel like you didn’t start soon enough though and can’t catch up now, stayed tuned for another way for you to read through Isaiah and prepare your heart for what Tim will be teaching us on camp.

ImpaKCt 2012 Update.

Hello out there. This is Crossfire bringing you an ImpaKCt 2012 update. We have had a HUGE amount of registrations already, but we want more! If you haven’t registered yet, do it. If you have, invite your friends. Remember, registrations close on the 31st of December this year. If you get to 2012 and think to yourself, “I’d really like to come on ImpaKCt”…IT’LL BE TOO LATE! So register now by clicking HERE. It’s seriously gonna be the best week ever.

Now today is important, because it’s officially 66 days until ImpaKCt! You might be wondering why we’re excited that it’s 66 days away. Well on ImpaKCt next year, Tim Hawkins will be taking us through the book of Isaiah and we want to set you a challenge. The book of Isaiah has 66 chapters, and we want to challenge our ministry to read one chapter a day to prepare our hearts and minds for what God is going to teach us on camp. This will be a great way for us to grow as a community and be sharing together all the way up to camp.

We’re super excited about what’s in store for Crossfire over these next couple of months and hope you are too! Keep checking back here for more updates.

Welcome to November!

This Sunday is the first of the month, meaning we’ll be gathering as a Crossfire community to come before God and pray. This is a time for us to bring our entire youth ministry and global missions before God, and to remember that this ministry is not about us - it is about HIM - and without Him, we can do nothing! We will be meeting in the CEC from 6:30pm-8pm after church this Sunday. We want a ministry centered around God and would love to see you all there. Get ready to pray, pray, PRAY!
